It's camping season again...
Woohoo - I love camping and this year my wife and I went all out. That's right, we bought a motorhome. A brand new class A, 28", fully loaded 1973 Aquarius! hehe. It's an old boat with a 454 big block so it's gonna suck a lot of gas, but it's going to be great!!!
We just got the mechanical inspection done and it's getting a new u-joint on the drive shaft and the left manifold is cracked so it will need to be replaced. The only thing is that the manifold is going to be difficult to find. GM no longer makes the part and jobber's are pretty rare for that year. Most engines of that age and size are used in industrial level vehicles with flatbeds and large utility boxes so local guys don't carry such parts and they can be substituted for other manifolds. But my motorhome is such a tight squeeze around the engine compartment that if I can't find a proper manifold, we will have to custome install a muffler...oh well, I'm still going camping this weekend and I can't wait!!!
