Where is the connection?

First, a little background; We had some Jehovah’s Witnesses come and visit my wife and I last Saturday as I was making brunch for the both of us. My wife, I must add, is incredibly welcoming and all are invited in for a cup of coffee. This is likely uncommon for these people as they always seem hesitant to relax in our presence. They might be expecting us to be aggressive or to try to persecute them, but that is not the case...So we have these Jehovah’s Witnesses sitting at our table and they briefly get into a couple questions about faith and do we believe in God. I allow my wife to talk to them and I just butt out. The younger of the two Jehovah’s starts talking about the name of God and asking rhetorical questions about "Is Jesus God?"; "Who is Jesus?" and more things like that...they're recruiting. My wife and I are not interested (I don’t think they know that,) but we enjoy discussing other opinions and use these times to further our own knowledge and points of view...Unfortunately, they did not stay long (less than 5 minutes as they saw that our brunch was just about ready - quite polite these two ladies were) but they did leave us with two of their pamphlet/magazine "The Watchtower".

A couple days later, when I was home alone, I began to flip through the one that questions the identity of Jesus. I know for a fact that these Witnesses will be returning and I would like to be a little prepared to talk to them...they prepare before they come to see us; I see it as fair to be able to present them with an intelligent discussion. So as I'm reading some of their documentation (everything they quote has the reference, so I find myself reading the bible to cross examine their claims and find that many of their conclusions differ from my conclusion of the same text) I come across a paragraph that now starts to question the validity of the Holy Trinity. The Jehovah’s Witnesses claim that there is no actual proof in the documentation that supports the idea of a Holy Trinity. Thus, in turn negating the fact that Jesus is the Son of God, and Jesus is the Almighty God, and Jesus is the Holy Spirit (vice-versa) = Holy Trinity. The Watchtower pamphlet also discusses quotes from the bible (by Jesus, other people around him, or some documentation taken from the Old Testament.) This information is used by them to try and convince people that Jesus is not also the Almighty God (Holy Trinity) but a prophet or angel or a lesser God. Either way, this idea of theirs is that Jesus is not God. I disagree with this idea.

Long story short, I have spent the better part of my free time this week researching the bible and Christian texts, discussing with doctors of theology and with catholic priests about their take on the issue to help build and refresh my knowledge on the matter. The only problem is I’m still looking for more. I am having a difficult time putting together and creating a strong, concise argument to support my opinion. You must understand, I do not doubt my belief, just having a difficult time wording my point of view. I enjoy being accurate in what is discuss.

So, I will continue my research and hopefully, find some good information to support my beliefs.
